Dress shown in the wedding
photograph of Mary Elizabeth Cornelius, wearing the dress at the time
of her marriage around 1892. The photo was taken in Springfield, MO. Since
then, the frill has been removed from the neckline; this is the only change
to the dress. It is in three pieces: skirt, bodice and belt. The only
soil is light dust on the underside of the train and some smudges left
in some places by the metal hooks; all may be removable with expert cleaning.
The bodice waistband measures about 24" and the skirt waistband about
26". (Photo is marked Springfield, MO. and is included with the dress.)
